Curious to see how these figures match up considering that it has been published that the 2.0 European Duratec head, as cast, flows enough air to develop 220 HP; the 2.3 North American Focus Duratec PZEV head is said to be if not the exact same piece, then very similar as to port shape and volumes.
Trans mount nuts: 35 ft-lbs. Trans mount center bolt: 98 ft-lbs. Slave cylinder bolts: 89 in-lbs. Pressure plate to flywheel bolts: 21 ft-lbs (I suggest tightening these in 2 steps and across from each other) Flywheel bolts: Procedure- Tighten bolts across from each other like you would wheel lug nuts. Step 1: 37 ft-lbs. Step 2: 50 ft-lbs.
More power. When you bolt a 2.3 head on a 2.0 block, you get instant improvement in flow through the head and can make more HP at higher RPM. Add a header, a decent intake manifold and some stage I or II cams and you can easily get about 180-190 WHP from the 2.0L engine, depending on your tune and type/octane of fuel used. [race]
2006 duratec 2.0 P0171 code. Edit: Solved after 3 years of this issue. It was a failing fuel pump. Anew fuel pump finally fixed it. The Duratec 2.0 is part of the Mazda Family under the L engine version and was designed by Ford and Mazda in collaboration. There is also a 2.0 Ford Zeta engine badged as Duratec ST. Altering your 2.0 Duratec camshaft will make a dramatic difference to the engine bhp. Choosing a higher performance camshaft profile raises the bhp accordingly.

Ford Focus 2007 Duratec 2.0L High idle. I have a late model ford focus 2007 with the 2.0L Duratec motor. I currently have an idling problem. When I start the car it revs up to 4k then it will come down to 2.5k and after a while it will idle at 1.5k. From my research it seemed to be a IAC issue but I don't think I have one, I can't find it.
But if you can carry that 250ftlbs you could easily make over 300whp and it would theoretically be just as safe as 250/250. There are several guys with mazda 3s doing 250tq and over 300hp on stock engines. Gone but not forgotten 2003 ZX3 zetec GT3582R 561whp 434wtq @ 25psi.
Hi. I am new to Fords having just bought a 2nd hand Mk2 2005 Focus, 2.0 petrol auto hatchback with the Duratec engine from a Private seller. I test drove the car with no problems, but soon after getting it home, the orange EML (Engine Management Light) came on indicating a fault with the engine.

Waiting for the ST sounds good but I'll be getting a car in June and I hate turbos with a passion. Which is why I was looking into the 2.0 duratec or the svt zetec both would work great. I carried the head to the machine shop and had it rebuilt. when I picked the head up he had a note attatched to the vvt cam gear stating that I needed a alignment tool for it when I put it back on the camshaft.
